Rose “June” Simons, 94 of Streator passed away Wednesday (December 23, 2020) at Parker Nursing and Rehabilitation Care Center.
Private family services will be held Monday at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. A public graveside service will be held Monday at 1 PM at the Emery Green Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be her family members.
June was born on June 23, 1926 in Chatham to Edward and Marie (Johnson) Mosell. She married Henry Simons on January 1, 1947. He preceded her in death on August 11, 2001.
Surviving are daughter, Anna (Frank) DeMarco of Cresthill, son, Allan (Patrice) Simons of Streator, daughter-in-law, Colleen (Joe) Bertrand of Spring Valley, grandchildren, Frank and Nick DeMarco, Troy Simons, Trina Thomas, Corey Fuersich, Stacy Simons, Lacy Simons, Chantal Rosenthal and Levi Clevenger, 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, brother Edward (Patricia) Mosell of Streator.
June is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Henry Simons Jr and daughter Barbara Mandrell.
June attended Streator grade schools and Streator High School. She retired from St. Mary’s Hospital in the cafeteria department.
