"Billy K"

William Edward Kennedy “Billy K”, 67, of Streator, passed away on October 2, 2026.

His family was at the heart of his life, and he will be remembered for the love, support, laughter, sarcasm, and countless memories he shared with them.

He is survived by his wife, Debra F. Kennedy (Baker); his mother, Judy Kennedy; four siblings, Kelly (Mike) O’Brien, Tim Kennedy, Tom (Debby) Kennedy, Mark (Jen) Kennedy; one child, Afton Kennedy; six stepchildren, Mindy (Derek) Wachowski, Meghan Flanery, Allison (Jeremy) Grauerholz, Jeff (Jade) Flanery, Amber Norman, and Amy Voytko, several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and had many other extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.

Bill dedicated many years of his life to the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) before retiring in 2012.

A true sports fan, Bill was a proud Chicago Cubs fan and a loyal Las Vegas Raiders fan. There was always room for a game on the TV, a few drinks, some sports talk, and more than a few strong opinions about how his teams were doing. He also took great pride in having a beautiful yard and enjoyed spending time outside keeping it just the way he liked it.

Bill was known for his humor and sarcasm, and his personality filled a room. He will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. He may no longer be here to watch the next game, but his family will carry his memory, his jokes, and probably a few of his opinions with them forever.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 2-4 p.m. at Winterrowd Funeral Home in Streator. In honor of Bill’s love for sports, guests are encouraged to wear their favorite team jersey or team colors instead of formal attire.
