William R. Gaefcke Sr

William R. Gaefcke Sr., 68 of Streator passed away Thursday (May 12, 2022) at his home.

Following cremation, visitation will be held Saturday (July 30^th) from 10am until 12noon at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 12noon at the funeral home with full military honors following services.  Burial will be in the Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.

Bill was born on March 13, 1954, in Streator to William M. and Helen (Samuels) Gaefcke.  He married Judy Chong on May 23, 1976.  She survives.

Also surviving is son William Gaefcke Jr of Streator, sister, Sandra (Charles) Richoz of Hawkins, TX, brother Frederick (Wendy Chesnut) Gaefcke of Lockport, nephews Charles W. Richoz of Hawkins, TX, and Arthur B. Richoz of Edgewater, MD and aunt, Shirley Hunter of Streator.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Bill attended Streator grade schools and graduated from Streator High School in 1972.  He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era and retired from the military after 22 years and trucking driving for Schneider Trucking after 26 years.  He was a member of the Streator American Legion and the Streator Eagles.
