Wendy Catherine North

Wendy North, 63, of Streator passed away at home Friday, (May 2, 2025), surrounded by her loving family.

A visitation will be held Thursday (May 8th) from 4 – 7 P.M. at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday (May 9th) at 2:00 P.M. at the St. Michael the Archangel Church, celebrated by Rev. Fr. Ignacio Cardenas. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be nephews Brian Brozak, Cory Scoles, Christopher Close, Joseph Leskanich, Zachary Leskanich, and Logan Leskanich.

Wendy was born on March 1, 1962, in Streator to Ralph and Ruth (McClernon) Neu. Wendy married Gene North on August 25, 1984. He survives.

Also surviving are sons Troy (Crystal) North of Marseilles, Steven (Claudia) North of Streator, Ryan (Kate) North of Rockford, and Thomas (Melanie) North of Streator, 9 grandchildren, Jacob, Grayson, Eloisa, Charles, Nora, Finleigh, Claire, Emma, and Olivia North, siblings Carolyn Brozak of Streator, Dianne (Jerry) Garrett of Benton, Sally Scoles of Streator, Hank Neu of Streator, Mike (Emiko) Neu of Okinawa, Japan, Sue (Kevin) Holt of Streator, and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Ralph Neu, Jr. and Judy Walker Neu. Judy passed away January 5, 2025, in Italy.

Wendy attended St. Anthony's grade school and Streator High School with the class of 1980. She attended IVCC. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church. Wendy worked at TG&Y and enjoyed waitressing at Oogies, Busters, 4 Corners, and later on she went to work at Heritage and Evergreen Place. She retired as the activity director from Evergreen Place in 2024. She enjoyed baking especially her famous cookies which she made with love.

Wendy enjoyed shopping trips to Iowa to celebrate all her sisters’ birthdays. Christmas was her most favorite time of the year and enjoyed hosting it with her family.
