Valerie Jean Alderson

Valerie Jean Alderson, 61 of Streator passed away Wednesday (September 12^th) at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Following cremation a visitation will be held Tuesday from 4 – 6 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.  Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 6 PM at the funeral home.

Valerie was born on June 11, 1957 in Streator to Delmar Wayne and Lola (Fleming) Sellers.  She married Ronald Alderson on May 9, 1980.  He survives.

Also surviving is a son Daniel (Jolene Daughtery) Sellers of Flanagan, 5 grandchildren Dylan, Paige, Maria, Zoe, and Daniel Jr. sister Kathy (Russ) McCalister of Morris, brothers Joseph (Kai) Sellers of Oxnard, CA and Ernest Charles Sellers of Streator.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a son Ronald D. Alderson Jr. in infancy, her twin sister Vicki Sellers and brothers Kevin Lee and Matthew Sellers.

Valerie graduated from Streator High School in 1975 and retired from Transco.  She was of the catholic faith and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing bingo, putting puzzles together and spending time with her husband, son and grandchildren. She also loved being a resident at Flanagan Rehabilitation Health Care Center.

Memorials may be made to the Streator Salvation Army.
