Thomas W. Garrett Sr.

Thomas William Garrett Sr. 76 of Streator passed away Wednesday (November 13, 2019) at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.

A graveside service will be held Friday at 1 PM at the St. Anthony’s Cemetery.  The Winterrowd Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Tom was born on December 15, 1942 in Manville to Leo and Hattie (Long) Garrett.

Surviving is a granddaughter Lynnae Garrett, great-grandson Julian both of Streator, sister Geraldine Davis of Streator, former wife/best friend Patricia  Maskel of Streator, step-children; Lisa Crozier of Streator, Michael Retoff of LaSalle, Robert Retoff Jr of Streator and Todd Maskel of Denver, Co.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons Billy and Thomas Garrett Jr., brother, Lee Garrett and sisters Helen Brown and Wanda Beltrami.

Tom attended Woodland School and retired from Tom’s Painting Service in Streator and was a shift supervisor at Owens Illinois Glass.  He enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle and participating in stock car racing.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
