Terry J. Washko, 78 of Streator passed away Tuesday (January 20, 2026) at Loyola Medical Center, Maywood.
Following cremation, a visitation will be held Tuesday from 9 – 10:30 AM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11AM at the funeral home with burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Terry was born on February 5, 1947, in Streator to John A. and Theresa G. (Aronson) Washko. He married Cynthia Lahman on December 27, 1991. She survives.
Also surviving are, daughter Amber (Marty) Bedeker of Streator, grandchildren Madison, Morgan and Skyler Bedeker, great granddaughter Adalyn Holland, brother Ralph (Nancy) Washko of Streator, sister-in-law Kimberly Lahman of Streator, brother-in-law David (Carrie Hrasch) Lahman of Streator and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Terry attended St. Stephen’s Grade School and graduated from Streator High School in 1965 and Mid State College in 1967. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the US Navy on the USS Canberra Cruiser from 1967-1969 and the Navy Reserve until 1972.
Terry was self-employed as a salesman and was later employed at Menards. He enjoyed stamp and coin collecting, reading, antiquing and being an avid animal lover.
Terry received a kidney transplant in 2015 from his wife Cindy.
