Steven Michael Fulkerson, 35, of Grand Ridge passed away Thursday (May 7, 2026). Steven was born on November 17, 1990, in Peru to Scott and Katherine (Davis) Fulkerson. He married Teirra Rodriguez on November 19, 2011. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Emric, Aaron, Evan and Arrow, his parents Scott and Kathy Fulkerson of Streator, siblings, Heidi (Greg) Ryan of Colorado, Mark (Patricia) Fulkerson of Varna, Michelle (Jacob) Veldhouse of Texas and Sarah Fulkerson of Colorado, in laws, Charlie and Tracey Rodriguez of Iowa and grandparents-in-law Thomas and Barbara Beach of Iowa. Steven owned and operated Trusted Lawn Lawn Care formerly known as Armored Lawn Care for over 11 years. He was honored to serve his community as a Village of Grand Ridge Board Trustee. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marseilles.
He lived his life with deep love for his family, a joyful spirit, and a servant’s heart. He especially treasured spending time reading, wrestling, nurturing, and going on adventures with his boys. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, growing zinnias, gardening, and hiking.
As the owner of Trusted Lawn Care, he took pride not only in his work, but in the relationships he built; often ministering to his customers with kindness and compassion. As a strong man of faith, he encouraged others in their walk with God with such honor and integrity.
Whether playing cards, enjoying games, or diving into a fierce game of Sorry, he brought laughter and fun to every gathering. He will be remembered for his contagious laugh, bright smile, generous heart, and playful spirit, especially the way he could tease his family and always leave them laughing.
A visitation will be held Tuesday (May 12th) from 4 – 6 PM at the Grand Ridge Funeral Home with funeral services following. Cremation rites will be accorded following services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to his wife to support his children’s future.
