Steven J. Durgach, 93 of Streator passed away Saturday morning (Oct.11th) at Heritage Health Care in Streator.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9-11AM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.
A Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday at 11:30AM at St. Michael the Archangel Church.
Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearer will be Michael Durgach. Pallbearers will be Jim and David Durgach, Michael Foltin, Jeff Wulzen and Todd and Sean Armstrong. Flag folding will be conducted by the Streator American Legion post #217 and the Streator VFW post #1492.
Steven was born October 24, 1920 in Streator to Stephen John and Susan (Butchko) Durgach.
He married Elvita Katcher on April 17, 1948. She passed away May 14, 1984.
Surviving is son, S. James (Debra) Durgach and daughter, Jeanene A. (Mike) Foltin both of Streator, 5 grandchildren, Jim (Staci) Durgach, Jennifer (Jeff) Wulzen, David (Elizabeth Shinkey) Durgach, Lara (Todd) Armstrong and Michael (Kristi) Foltin all of Streator, 5 great-grandchildren, Michael Durgach, Cole Park, Jeadon Wulzen, Sean Michael Armstrong and Grant Wallace Foltin and sister Eva Cusac of Streator.
He was preceded in death by his half brothers, Tony, Charlie, Albert, Eddie, Joe, Leo and Louis Golick and his half sister, Emma Golick.
Steve graduated from Streator High School in 1939. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army. He worked at Anthony Company for 45 years and was a member of the Streator Eagles and Streator VFW. Steve was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church.
