Sterling Charles Flanery Sr, 80 of Streator was called home on Saturday (March 21st) by our Lord and Savior followed by a brief illness at Rivershores Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Marseilles.
A visitation will be held Thursday from 10 â 12 Noon at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday at Noon at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Sterling was born on May 2, 1934 to Bert and Cora (Ratcliff) Flanery in Robinson Creek, KY.
Surviving are children Debra (Robert) Hillier of Saunemin, Sterling âChuckâ Flanery Jr. of Streator, Tom Flanery of Ottawa, Denise Flanery of Streator, Lisa Thacker of Seneca and Lori (Michael) Ocull of S. Dakota, 21 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren, brother Bert (Emagene) Flanery of Streator and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son Michael, grandson Jordon Lee McCormick, brothers Carl and Merv, sisters Jeanette Seroka and Mary Canale.
Sterling retired from Thatcher Glass after 38 years and was a member of the former TMC (Thatcher Employees Center) and loved boating, fishing, and camping amoung other things and spending time with his family. He wll be deeply missed and loved forever.
Memorials may be made in his name to the Alzheimerâs Association.
