Shirley M. (Cave) Knickerbocker, 78 of Streator passed away Wednesday (June 16, 2021) at her home.
Visitation will be held Monday form 10 – 12noon at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday at noon at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be nephews, Adam, Andrew and Justin Cave, Nathan Billups and Ben Rogers nieces, Angie Rogers and Jessica Billups.
Shirley was born on September 25, 1942 in Streator to Roy and Florence (DeMoss) Cave. She married Robert Knickerbocker on July 2, 1976. He preceded her in death on December 18, 2013.
Surviving are sister, Donna Fleming of Ottawa, brother Jerry (Julie) Cave of Grand Ridge, nieces and nephews, Angie (Ben) Rogers, Jessica (Nathan) Billups, nephews, Adam (Amy) Cave, Andrew Cave and Justin (Mercedes) Cave, stepchildren, Bob Knickerbocker and Diana Youngblood.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob, a brother Roy in infancy and a brother-in-law Jerry Fleming.
Shirley attended Grand Ridge grade school and graduated from Ottawa High School in 1960. She was employed with Luckey Trucking in the office since 1999 and was formerly employed at J.G. Vending. Shirley was a member of the Central Church of Christ.
Memorials may be made to either the Central Church of Christ or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
