Sandra L McMullen-Neyers

July 10, 1939 — January 16, 2018

Sandra L. McMullen-Neyers, 78 of Dana passed away Tuesday evening (January 16th) at OSF St. James Hospital, Pontiac.

Following cremation, a visitation will be held Saturday from 9 – 11 AM at the Central Church of Christ.  Services will be held Saturday at 11 AM at the church with grandson-in-law Adam Johnson officiating.

Winterrowd Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Sandy was born July 10, 1939 in Streator to Charles Edward and Ethel (Pool) Jones.  She married Ralph Neyers on January 9, 1982.  He preceded her in death on January 22, 2007.

She survived by a son Joe (Gaylene) McMullen of Streator, daughters Susan (Greg) Lucas of Streator, Laurie (Ralph) Cole of Streator and Janice Dunning of Dana, grandchildren Tara Yacko, Christopher McMullen, Brent (Meagan McWhorter) Lucas, Brianna Lucas, Amanda (Adam) Roederer, Abbie (Adam) Johnson, Austin and Alex Cole, Justin (Jeana Lawson) Bowling, Caleb Bowling, Sarah and Becca Dunning and Emma Burkett, 13 great-grandchildren, a sister Mary Ellen (Kenneth) Simmons of Streator and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Richard Jones and sister Rita Janke.

Sandy graduated from Streator High School in 1957 and retired from St. Mary’s Hospital in the Dietary Department.  She was a member of the Central Church of Christ and loved quilting, spending time and fishing at the cabin on Lake Senachwine with family and friends.  She volunteered for the American Red Cross, Hospice, 4-H Leader and a Sunday school teacher.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to either the American Red Cross or American Cancer Society.
