Sam Giacinto

Sam Giacinto, 82 of Streator passed away Thursday morning (May 13, 2021) at the Ottawa Pavilion, Ottawa.

Funeral services will be private, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.  The Winterrowd Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Sam was born on November 29, 1938 in Streator to Pete and Geraldine (Carletti) Giacinto.  He married Kathleen Connolley on April 22, 2015.  she survives.

Also surviving are step daughters, Holly (Doug) Lautwein of Streator and Wendy (George) Shafer of Michigan City, IN, Sue (Leonard) Lawson of Richlands, VA and Kim (Craig) Houser of Cape Coral, FL, brother Pete (Ann) Giacinto of Harrisburg, AR, brother-in-law Jim Teegardin of Streator and a lifelong friend, Bob Hewitt of Streator.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Joann Teegardin and Justine Fraher.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.

I remember all of the wonderful music that Sam provided by singing his songs to his favorite music that the residents loved!! He was never too busy to come out to entertain the residents!! The residents looked forward to his programs!!! RIP my friend.

i am sams brother pete he was the best brother a person could ever have he was always there you could count on him aiways he taught me how to drive and always would let me use his car . i am so sorry kathy for your loss and my loss too i will miss him so much he was always there in everything i did he made me strong when i was weak i could talk to him about anything he would listern and understand always helped keep my cars running and we would sing elvis songs together and even record them god speed sam you are gone yet you will aiways be in my heart love you
