Sally N. Pitts, 90 of Streator passed away Tuesday afternoon (March 10, 2015) at her home.
Following cremation the family will hold a memory dinner at a later date. The Winterrowd Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Sally was born on August 7, 1924 in Murphysboro to Charles Ottis and Clara (Herring) McClure. She married Donald Raymond Pitts in May of 1945 he passed away in February of 1979.
Surviving are children Donna (Robert) Retoff of Streator, Michael (Mary) Pitts of state of Washington, 5 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren, brother Robert (Audrey) McClure of Indiana and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by 2 brothers, 2 sisters and a sister-in-law.
Sally graduated from Murphysboro High School in 1943 and retired from Owen’s Illinois Glass in 1982, and was a member of the Murphysboro American Legion and VFW and Carbon Lake Club.
She was of the Lutheran Faith and was an avid bowler, golfer and enjoyed fishing.
Memorials may be made in her name to OSF Hospice or LaSalle County Humane Society.
