Robert M. Zelenak

Robert M. Zelenak, 83 of Streator passed away Saturday (April 18, 2026) at Pavilion of Ottawa surrounded by his family.

Following cremation, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Bob was born on January 11, 1943, in Streator to George and Doris (Pedelty) Zelenak. He married Sharon Swift on August 6, 1965. She survives.

Also surviving are Scott (Patti) Minkler, Rodney (Tammy) Minkler, Rebecca Turner, George Zelenak all of Streator and Jennifer Zelenak of Wenona, 20 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, sister-in-law Candi Zelenak of Oglesby and his beloved dog Buck.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, daughter in law JoAnn Minkler, grandchildren Michael and Michelle Minkler and brother Donald Zelenak.

Bob attended Kangley Grade School and Streator High School. He was formerly employed at Streator Dependable and since 1974 with the Pipefitters Local 597 and farming. He was a member of the Marshall County Sportsman Club. He enjoyed his tractors and farm life in general. He was a man of many traits and there wasn’t anything that he couldn’t do or fix.
