Robert J. Nixon Sr., 74 of Streator passed away Friday (December 17, 2021) at his home.

Private family services will be held and burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
The Winterrowd-Hagi Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Bob was born on December 14, 1947 in Ottawa. He married Rebecca “Becky” Winterrowd on September 25, 1981. She preceded him in death on August 24, 2020.
Surviving are daughters, Jennifer Davis of Streator, Michelle (Dave) Giese of Limestone, son, Robert Nixon Jr of Streator, grandchildren; Walter Vargas, Chase Pavlick, Harrison Giese, Gracie Nixon and Emily Hinz, great-grandchildren; Dalton and Payzlee Vargas, his mother Shirley Holocker of Dwight, brothers-in-laws; Randy (Luann) Winterrowd of Ancona and Todd (Mark Hintze) Winterrowd of Wisconsin, sisters-in-laws; Barbara (Paul) Irwin of Florida and Kathy Harris of Streator and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father William Holocker, his wife Becky, In-laws, Walter Eugene and Joann Winterrowd.
Bob graduated from Streator High School in 1965. He served in the US Army during Vietnam. He retired from R.R. Donnelly in Dwight in 2009. Bob was a former member of the Streator VFW and the Streator Mens Bowling League. He enjoyed fishing, cooking and baking, spending time with his wife and children.
Bob and Becky renovated a 1971 Nova with the neighborhood long time best friends/neighbors…..they referred to it as the “Morrell Street Mafia.” The gathering included Gene and Joni Source neighbors of 35 plus years, Ed and Annie Bedeker and Ryan Schmitt a local car guru. They all bought classic cars and trucks and would spend every weekend together hanging out at each other’s garages working on someone’s car. That was Bob and Becky favorite last good years together.
Memorials may be made in his name to the family of Robert Nixon Sr.
