Robert F. Green

Robert F. Green 85, of Streator passed away Friday morning (March 10^th, 2017) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington. 

A visitation will be held Monday from 4-7 PM and Tuesday from 1-2 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.   Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 PM at the funeral home.

Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. 

Robert was born on January 14, 1932 in Streator to George E. and Mary (Pouk) Green, Sr.   He married Marcella V. “Jean” Fialko on August  21, 1954.  She passed away September 27, 2009. 

Surviving are daughters, Barbara (Kirk) Sheler of Cedar Springs, MI and Debra (Marty Fillenworth) Brown of Bloomington, son, James R. Green of Charleston, W. Virginia, 4 grandchildren, Jeremy Brown of Bloomington and Samantha, Jessica and Jordan Green all of Streator. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Robert F. Green, Jr., granddaughter, Miranda Morgan Green, brothers, George Jr.,  Ralph and  Edward Green and sister, Dorothy Clark. 

Robert was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church and graduated from Streator High School.  He served in the Army during the Korean War from 1952-1954.  Robert retired from Owens Illinois Glass after 42 years.  Robert was an avid bowler and received the bowler of the year award and was inducted into the Bowlers Hall of Fame.
