Robert A. Cave

Robert A. Cave, (“Mayor” of Wilsman) age 86 of rural Streator passed away Friday evening (November 17, 2023) at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Ottawa.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 11AM at Riverview Cemetery with military honors conducted by members of the Streator American Legion and VFW.

Serving as pallbearers will be, Ron, Robert, Randy and Jessica Kreiser, Scott, Stephen, Cory and Connie Lauer and Dan Parcher

Bob was born on November 13, 1937, in Streator to Joe and Bertha (Monts) Cave.

Surviving are nieces, nephews, and the Joan Ehlers family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Roy, Ralph, Ray and Sherman Cave, sisters, Mabel Whalen, Bertha Cave, Leona Kreiser and Rose Cave and his longtime companion Joan Ehlers.

Bob graduated from Tonica High School in 1956, he served in the US Army from 1957 until 1960.  He retired from Caterpillar in Aurora.

Bob enjoyed raising cattle, gardening, spending time with family and was a huge sports fan.
