Richard Dean Kacvinsky

September 12, 1939 — December 8, 2015

Richard “Dick” D. Kacvinsky, 76 of Streator passed away Tuesday evening (December 8th) at the Kindred Hospital, Peoria.

A visitation will be held Saturday from 10 AM until 1:00 PM with the rosary recited at 9:45 at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 PM at the funeral home with cremation rites following services with a private family burial at a later date in St. Stephen’s Cemetery.

Dick was born on September 12, 1939 in Streator to Albert “Jake”and Rose Kacvinsky.  He married Durelle “De” Leonard on November 30, 1957.  She passed away on April 23, 1990.  He later married Debra Essman on December 21, 1991.  She survives.

Also surviving are children, Sherry (Jim) Stinar of Flanagan, Danny (Joyce) Kacvinsky of Washington, IL, Tina (Doug) Wilking of Streator, Doug (Rebecca) Kacvinsky of Streator, Dave (Julie) Kacvinsky of Streator, Richard “RD” (Teresa) Kacvinsky of Manville and Travis (Marcy) Essman of Long Point, 21 grandchilden, 13 great-grandchildren, sister, Sandra Malnar of Streator, brothers, John (Janet) Kacvinsky of Rochelle and Robert (Kathy) Kacvinsky of Streator, mother-in-law, Ramona Essman of Streator, brothers-in-law, John (Renae) Essman of Streator and Gary (Cynthia) Essman of Streator and several nieces and nephews, special friends, golfing buddy “Shorty”, and newly retired neighbor Terry.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife, brothers-in-law, Jim Malnar and Daniel Essman Sr and father-in-law, John Essman Sr.

Dick retired from Vactor Mfg in 2001.  He was an avid golfer at Twin Creeks Golf Course, past member of the Streator Mens Bowling Association and a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church.  Dick enjoyed spending time with family and friends and time at the river and having a few refreshments, listening to polka and country music and being a huge NASCAR fan.

Memorials may be made to the Light Up Streator Committee or to the local Make a Wish Foundation.
