Ray L. Kress

Ray L. Kress, 58 of Streator passed away Friday evening (Sept. 23^rd) at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa. 

A visitation will be held on Friday from 10AM-12Noon at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.  Funeral services will be held on Friday at 12Noon at the church.  Full military honors will be conducted by the Streator American Legion post #217 and Streator VFW post #1492. Cremation rites will be accorded.  Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park at a later date. 

Winterrowd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ray was born March 13, 1958 in Streator, IL to Lloyd and Rose (Wakeman) Kress.

He married Pamela Hansen on July 18, 1998.  She survives. 

Also surviving are daughters, Julia (Lane) Norton of Auburn and Tonya (Derek) Carter of Streator, and step-son, Jeremy Quinlan of Streator, brothers, Russell (Robin) Kress of FL, Richard (Debbie) Kress of GA, Roy (Tammy) Kress of Ancona and Robert (Lisa) Kress of Lake Summerset, IL and sister Rosemary Council of Streator, 3 grandchildren, Makayla and Daxton Carter both of Streator and Monty Norton of Auburn, IL. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ray graduated from Streator High School in 1976.  He was formerly employed at Streator Unlimited as a custodian. 

Ray served in the U.S. Navy.  He was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Memorials may be made to either the Asthma Foundation or the St. Paul's Lutheran Church Youth Fund.
