Phyllis Jean Eplin

October 29, 1935 — January 27, 2020

Phyllis J. Eplin, 84 of Streator passed away Monday evening (January 27, 2020) at St. James Hospital in Pontiac.

Following cremation, a private family service will be held at a later date.                                                       

Winterrowd -Hagi Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Phyllis was born on October 29, 1935 in Streator to Vernon and Henrietta (Harlacher) Bailey.                                                           

Phyllis married Charles W. Eplin on 1953.  He passed away December 14, 1998.

Surviving are sons, Jim (Jane) Eplin and Tom Eplin both of Streator and Bill (Sylvia) Eplin of Kingman, AZ, 6 grandchildren, Nichole Reynolds and Courtney Galvan both of Streator and Eric, Alexondra, Charlie and Harlan Eplin of Arizona, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, brother, Vernon (Joann) Bailey of Streator and  sister, Tina Smith of Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Edward and Richard Bailey and sister, Diana Hefferman.

Phyllis attended Kangley grade school and Streator High School.

 She was a member of the Lighthouse Full Gospel Church.  She was formerly employed at Thatcher Glass in Streator.

Phyllis loved watching the Cubs, reading and doing crossword puzzles. She was known for her desserts that she loved to bake.

Memorials may be made to The American Diabetes Association or to the Charity of the donor’s choice.
