Nancy Rebecca Johnson-Shockey, 90, of Port Richey, Florida and formerly of Marseilles and Streator passed away at 11:35 PM, Thursday July 2, 2026, at Parker Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Streator.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday at Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles. A visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 AM at the Winterrowd-Hagi Funeral Home in Streator prior to the services. Pallbearers will be her nephews: Lee, Jerry, Colin Baker, Larry Ingle, Joe Higgins and a niece Katie Pereira.
She was born January 10, 1936, in Rossville IL to the late Cornelius “Tuck” and Vara (Camp) Baker. She married Harvey Johnson on August 14, 1957. He preceded her in death on November 16, 1982. She then married Charles “Homer” Shockey in 1985. He preceded her in death in 1993.
She is survived by her partner of 30 years Thomas Hadley of Port Richey; a son Russell Johnson of Hudson FL; a daughter Becky Johnson of Port Richey; granddaughters Holly (Chris) Groh of Burlington NC, Heather Johnson of Port Richey; great grandchildren: Kendall, Mason and Julia Groh; a brother Morton “Russ” Baker of Streator; nieces and nephews: Larry and Lee Ingle, Brenda Schaber, Cheryl Stevenson, Carla Libby, Tracey Duncan, Stacey Wren, Lee and Jerry Baker, Rhonda Higgins, Gloria Probes, Kay Pflegger, Donna Poyner, Mark Baker, Debbie Kennedy, Mary Ann Baker, Jennifer Danko, Cindy Neiggemann, Bryan and Terry Baker and Amy Oelschlager; Shawn Schmitke, Mark and Mike Rohwer, Patty Hennessey, Dawn Evans, Dwane Kepler, Karen Reynolds, Albert Johnson Jr., Diana Poss, Vicki Monroe and Bobby Johnson; numerous great nieces and nephews; stepchildren: Marion Modessit of Seneca and Charles “Chuck” Shockey of Oglesby.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, sisters: Anna Mae Ingle and Mary Erickson; brothers: Delmer, Louie “Lewis”, Pete, Robert and William Baker.
First and foremost, she was a devoted wife and mother who always put others first. She was the life of the party and loved entertaining. Her infectious smile and laughter lit up every room she walked into. She worked in healthcare for many years taking care of elderly people in their homes.
