Mildred A. McClure, 84, of Streator passed away Thursday (Dec. 12th, 2013) at St. Mary’s Hospital.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9-11AM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11AM at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be family members.
Mildred was born on October 7, 1929 in Streator, Illinois to Homer and Elizabeth (Bullock) Gudgell.
She married Ernest L. McClure on May 1, 1948 in Wenona, Illinois. He passed away June 3, 1991.
Surviving are children, William (Meg) McClure of Franksville, WI, Mary Ann (Gregory) Prignano of Glendale Heights,IL, Hildegarde (William) Burgess of Ancona, Connie Spradling of Streator, Ralph (Susan) McClure of Odell, and Betty Reihl of Streator, 15 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and niece Sally Youngblood of Streator.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, David McClure, sisters, Sophie Zito and Elizabeth Gudgell, and brother, George Gudgell.
Mildred attended Greeley grade school and Streator High School. She worked at Oogies where she was known as the “soup ladyâ€. She was a member of the Streator Eagles Auxiliary and Park Presbyterian Church.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
