Micheal E. Madara

Micheal E. Madara, 61, of Streator, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, with his daughter and son-in-law by his side.

A visitation will be held on Thursday (Feb. 12th) from 4 to 6 PM at Winterrowd Funeral Home, with services following at 6 PM at the funeral home.

Mike was born on November 19, 1964, in Streator, to Eugene and Rozetta E. (Schall) Madara.

He is survived by his daughters, Ashley (Daniel Leach) Nelson of Gibson City and Tiffany Nelson of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Savannah Mills, Avah, and Jacob Leach; sister Jeanette (Arthur) Heaps of Seattle, WA; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mike attended Streator Grade Schools and Streator High School. During his time in Seattle, he worked on fishing boats and docks, and upon returning to Streator, he transitioned into a career in construction. He enjoyed fishing at Lazy Acres and playing pool and darts. Above all, he took immense pride in being a father and Papa. He embraced life wholeheartedly while always remaining humble. He was a friend to many and a brother to countless others.
