Michael Joseph Kelm, 77 of Streator passed away Tuesday (December 2, 2025) at the Goldwater Care, Pontiac.
Mike was born on December 27, 1947, in Streator to Henry and Mary (Schmillen) Kelm. He married Linda Wilcox on September 25, 1971.
He is survived by his wife Linda of Streator, three children William (Lindsay) Kelm of Oglesby, Kathleen (Charla Meiner) Kelm of Arizona and Jennifer L. (Ryan) Thompson of Streator, grandchildren, Dominic, Devin, J.J., Chessie and Shawna and brother James Kelm of Indiana,
He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Mary Jane Brucker.
Mike attended St. Mary’s Grade School and graduated from Woodland High School. He served in the US Army in Vietnam and served in the National Guard for over 10 years. Mike was a life member of the Streator VFW Post 1492, Streator American Legion Post 217 and the AmVets. He worked at Santa Fe Railroad and Northern Gas at the underground storage field in Ancona.
His wife, children and grandchildren were his pride and joy, and trains were his lifelong hobby.
Visitation will be held Wednesday (Dec. 10th) from 10AM until 12noon at the Winterrowd Funeral Home with services following visitation. Burial will be in Phillips Cemetery with full military honors conducted by members of the Streator American Legion and Streator VFW.
Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons J.J., Dominic and Devin, son-in-law Ryan Thompson, and family friends Jay Haff, and Alan Murphy.
Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Myasthenia Gravis Foundation.
