Merle L. Dodge, 81 of Streator passed away Thursday evening (July 30th) at his home.
Visitation will be held Monday from 12:30 – 2 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park with flag folding conducted by members of the Streator American Legion and VFW.
Merle was born on March 8, 1934 in Streator to Ronald and Hazel (Minick) Dodge. He married Marcella Bright on September 2, 1961. She passed away on September 29, 2007.
Surviving is son Kevin (Kari O’Donovan) Dodge of Eagan, MN, daughter, Klista (Edward) Odgers of Pontiac, 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, sister, Sharon Dodge of Streator, several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Corky.
Merle is preceded in death by his parents, wife, grandson Andrew Malcolm Dodge, brothers Delbert, Wilbur, Raymond and Clyde Dodge.
He served in the US Army from November of 1956 to November of 1958. He retired from Owen’s Illinois Glass.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donors’ choice.
