Maxine McCoy Witko

Maxine McCoy Witko, 93 of Streator passed away Sunday morning (September 6, 2026) at her home.

A visitation will be held Friday from 10AM until 12noon at the Central Church of Christ. Funeral services will be held at 12noon at the church. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery.

Maxine was born on March 11, 1933, in Florence, IN to Darrell and Bernice (Bennett) Scott. She married Donald McCoy on June 9, 1967. He passed away on June 19, 1996. She later married James Witko on November 24, 2000. He passed away on June 12, 2004.

Surviving are sons, David (Char) Halco and Bruce (Patti Rose) Halco both of Streator, daughter, Tina Marie (Charlie) Phillips of Oxford, WI, stepchildren, Dianna (Greg) Ioerger, Randal (Valerie) Witko and Jeannie Maggio, granddaughters, Kristie Novotney, Haleigh Emm and Hannah Moore, Amanda (Nick) Crisman, Melissa (Chris) Nosalik, Amber Maggio, Rachel Maggio and Lindsey (Jon Sabotta) Maggio, several great grandchildren, brother Loren (Melba) Scott of Utah, nephew, Jim (Ann) Eccleston, nieces June Eccleston and Jean Eccleston Grimes.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands Donald and James, sister Norma Hill and brothers Maurice and Paul.

Maxine graduated from Patriot High School in Patriot, IN. She retired from the Streator High School in the cafeteria. She was a member of the Central Church of Christ and was very active with the Streator YMCA exercise class and she enjoyed sewing.

Memorials may be directed to the Rock River Christian Camp or the Central Church of Christ.
