Matilda "Tillie" Joan Stasko

Matilda “Tillie” Joan Stasko, 101 of Streator passed away Monday (March 23, 2026) at the ARC of Streator.

Services will be held Friday (Mar. 27th) at 12noon at the St. Stephen’s Cemetery Chapel.

Tillie was born on March 2, 1925, in Albia, Iowa to John and Mary (Bakalar) Sereg. She married Frank “Fritz” Stasko on October 25, 1947. He preceded her in death on May 16, 1997.

Surviving is, son, Gary Stasko of Ames, Iowa, grandchildren, Laura (Kelly) Schoonover, Kristine (Adam) Wolfe and Kevin (Lauren) Stasko, great grandchildren, Gibson, Theodore and Kaiser Wolfe, brother Nick Sereg of Streator and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Fritz, brothers Mike, Albert, George and Paul, sisters, Helen, Sophia Allison, Agnes Senko, Mary Trenshaw and Martha Roth.

Tillie attended Albia Grade School in Iowa and graduated from Streator High School in 1942. She was a member of St. Michael’s Church and retired from GTE as a telephone operator.
