Mary A. Skaggs

Mary A. Skaggs, 85 of Streator passed away Tuesday evening (November 21^st) at Heritage Health and Rehabilitation Care Center.

Graveside services will be held Monday at 11 AM at the Riverview Cemetery.  The Winterrowd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mary was born on November 27, 1931 in Streator to John and Ethel (Skaggs) Skaggs.

She is survived by 22 nieces and nephews and a long time close friend Rita Steczek of Streator.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, Iven, Burnis, Donald and Shelly Skaggs, 4 sisters, Dorothy Byrd, Mamie Shannon, Ilene Kinkade and Betty Marshall.

She attended country schools and graduated from the Wenona High School in 1949.  Mary worked as a machine operator, Lipton Tea and retired from Toys R Us as a cashier and clerk while living out in California.  She was of the Methodist faith.

Memorials may be made in her name to a charity of the donors’ choice.
