Marlene Ann Gorski

Marlene Ann Gorski, 88 of Streator passed away Tuesday evening, August 25, 2026, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington surrounded by her family.

A visitation will be held Tuesday from 10AM until 1PM at the Grand Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1PM at the funeral home with burial following in the Grand Ridge Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Marlene was born on July 29, 1938, in Streator to George and Catherine (Seaman) Bednar. She married Gerald Gorski on July 29, 1978. He survives.

Also surviving are children, Bob (Julene) Buckley of Grand Ridge, Mick (Debra) Buckley of Grand Ridge, Dan (Patty) Buckley of Serena, Kathy (Ed) Kazirskis of Ottawa and Christine (John) Hladovcak of Ransom. She treasured her 16 grandchildren, Joe, Jake, Jess, Andrew, Aaron, Elizabeth, Olivia, Brittany, Brandon, Brooke, Sean, Cheyenne, Desirae, Zach, Tad, and Tim, and her 12 great grandchildren with 3 on the way. A sister-in-law Jean Bednar, several nieces and nephews, and In laws, Alan Gorski of Streator and Carol (Larry) Llewyens of Kirksville, MO also survive.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Robert, Richard and Eugene, sisters, Lucille Carby, Jean Sulzberger and Josephine Sloan.

Marlene attended St. Stephen’s Grade School and graduated from Streator High School in 1956. She retired from Illinois Bell and Image Print. She was a member of the Park Presbyterian Church and the Relay for Life. Marlene enjoyed traveling and camping with her husband Jerry. Her biggest joy in her life was the time spent with her family.
