Marlene M. Freise

Marlene M. Freise, 86 of Wenona and formerly of rural Streator passed away Friday morning (August 12, 2022) at the Good Samaritan Home in Pontiac.

A visitation will be held Friday (Aug. 19^th) from 10 am until 12noon at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at noon at the funeral home with Pastor John Hoyt officiating and masks being worn is preferred.  Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Salvo and Ryan Parenti, Travis Freise, Ciera and Brent Freise-Lacheta and Rick Schafer.

Marlene was born on July 17, 1936, in Streator to Fred and Helen (Watson) Krocker.  She married Wayne W. Freise on January 22, 1956.  He preceded her in death on February 21, 2013.

Surviving are children, Janet (Lino) Parenti of St. Louis, MO, Dean (Sharon) Freise of Wenona and JoAnn (the late Peter Smith) Freise of Forest City, NC, grandchildren, Salvo (Candace) and Ryan Parenti, Travis Freise, Marlana (Nick) Jacobs and Ciera (Brent) Freise-Lacheta, great-grandchildren, Mario Parenti and Theodore Jacobs, and sister Betty Monti of Seffner, FL.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Wayne, son Dale and a brother Vernon.

Marlene attended the Kraft Country grade school and Streator high School.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and attended the Rutland Christian Church.  Marlene lived and worked on the farm along with her husband.

Memorials may be made to the Rutland Christian Church, Wenona Public Library or a charity of the donors choice.
