Marlena F. Flynn-Simmons
Marlena F. Flynn-Simmons, 64 of Streator passed away Wednesday afternoon (Jan.5) at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa.
A visitation will be held Saturday (Jan.15th) from 10 AM-12 Noon at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 12 Noon at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Marlena was born on September 25, 1957, in Streator, Illinois to Francis and Alice (Taylor) Flynn.
Surviving are children, Jerri (Greg Knap) Simmons of Streator, Jessi (David) Ham of Grand Ridge, Joel Simmons of Wenona, Joshua Simmons of Toluca and Jon (Jody) Young of Streator, 9 grandchildren, Joel Jr., Kaylee (Cody Figenbaum) Simmons, Allee Delahaba, Reid, Reece and Reigen Ham and Paige Simmons, Grady and Brody Young and Meleya Affrunti, brothers, John (Peggy) Flynn of Streator and Robert Taylor of Streator and sisters, Sue Ferguson of Blackstone, Penny (James) Callahan of Streator and Brenda Flynn of Streator and a long time friend Robert Shields of Streator.
She is preceded in death by her parents, niece, Michele Callahan and brother-in-law, Tom Ferguson.
Marlena attended Streator grade schools and Flanagan High School. She worked as a volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital, Streator.
Memorials may be made to Children’s Orphanages.
