Marjorie M. Somsag, 87 of Streator passed away Wednesday evening (Oct. 5th) at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Streator.
A visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 - 7PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home, Streator. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Brian, Patrick, Tim and Dan Lock, Bradley Smith and Rick Stewart. Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Somsag and Daniel Muraro.
Marjorie was born on September 21, 1924 in Long Point, IL to Andrew and Florence (Camelin) Cunningham. She married Malcolm Somsag, he passed away Nov. 8, 1988.
Surviving are daughter Jean (Michael) Lock of Tonica, son Courtney (Hiroko) Somsag of Mt. Pleasant, TX, daughter Karen (Rick Stewart) Gjerde of Sheridan, grandchildren, Brian (Janice) Lock of Streator, Patrick (Heather) Lock of Tonica, Tim (Carrie Zera) Lock of rural Tonica, Dan (Cindy) Lock of rural Tonica, Ben Somsag, Grand Prairie, TX, Angela (Daniel Muraro) Somsag, Grand Prairie, TX and Bradley Smith, Sheridan, 8 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a great-granddaughter, Alyssa Potter, sisters Mildred Forbes and Marna Winters.
Marjorie was formerly employed at Thatcher Glass and Klines Dept. Store, Streator. And was a member of the Thatcher's Aux., Streator VFW Aux., Streator Eagles Aux., REACT, and the Golden Emblem Club, and graduated from the Minonk Community High School in 1942.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
