Marie A. McCurdy 90, of Streator passed away Wednesday morning (Oct. 19th) at Heritage Manor Nursing Home.
A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9-11AM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11AM at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters, Erin Thorp, Brandy Redman, Kristie Linnemeyer, Jaclyn Musec, Nora Urbanec, and grandson, Shane Luke.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Sean, Michael, and Eric McCurdy, and Ryan, Dylan and Jeremy Luke.
Marie was born on Dec. 9, 1920 in Pontiac, Illinois to Guy and Agnes (Thompson) Melvin.
She married Edward L. McCurdy on Oct 2, 1942 He passed away May 20, 1994.
Surviving are children Richard A. (Diane) McCurdy of Ottawa, Jerry L. (Wanda) McCurdy of Rural Streator, Carol (Donald) Luke of Streator, 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and sister, Mildred Wonders of Tampa, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Larry McCurdy, brothers, Robert, George, and AL Melvin.
Marie attended Sherman grade school and graduated from Streator High School in 1938.
Marie was formerly employed at Melvin Trucking, member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, President of the Residence Council at Heritage Manor and member of the Red Hatters.
Memorials may be directed to Heritage Manor Nursing Home.
