Marianne Kettman, 98, of Streator, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, September 3, 2025, at
the ARC of Streator.
Private family services were held with burial in Phillips Cemetery. The Winterrowd Funeral Home
assisted the family with arrangements.
Marianne was born February 4, 1927, in Streator to Glen and Irene (Edgington) Daugherity. She
married the love of her life, Thomas G. Kettman, on November 11, 1949. They shared nearly 69 years
together before his passing on February 10, 2018.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Brian) Kmetz of Streator and Susan (Csaba) Radnoty of
California; her son, Brian (Kim) Kettman of Missouri; grandchildren, Kurt Quickel, Brandon Quickel,
David (Melissa) Kmetz, Chris (Cori) Kmetz, Shay Sanford, Jacob Kettman, and Maddie Mumin; 15
great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her brother, John (Joanne) Daugherity of Madison,
Wisconsin; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jerry; her grandson, Tyler Kettman; and her
brothers, Jerry and Neale Daugherity.
Marianne grew up southeast of Streator and loved to share stories of her life on the farm. She attended
Smith-Dale Grade School, a one-room schoolhouse, until 1940. She later graduated from Streator High
School in 1944. She and Tom built their family home on the very property where she had once gone to
school—an enduring symbol of her deep roots in the community.
Before devoting herself to raising her family, Marianne worked at Barickman Feed Store, The Garter
Factory, J.C. Penney, and Streator Dry Goods. She was a longtime member of Central Church of Christ,
where she was baptized in 2019.
Marianne will be remembered for her love of family, her strength and resilience, and the life she built
with Tom over many decades. At family gatherings when surrounded by her many grandchildren and
great grandchildren, she would often say, “I can’t believe of all this came from me and Tom”.
Memorials in her honor may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Service will be held at a future date
