She passed away Monday (June 29)
at St. Mary's Hospital
A memorial visitation will be Thursday (July 2) from 11AM until 12:45PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.
A Memorial Mass will be (July 2) at 1PM at St. Anthony Church
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
She was born August 29, 1917 in Streator, IL to Dr. John J. and Margaret (Ryan) Maras
She married Lewis D. Lloyd on February 1, 1941. He passed away February 15, 1991.
Surviving are son, David (Judith) Lloyd of Westbury, NY, Daughters, Joan Elliott of Lake Forest, IL, Barbara Hale of Northampton, England, and Mary Elizabeth Mulhall of Streator , 4 Grandchildren 1 Great-Granddaughter, Sister, Dorothy Skinner of Libertyville, IL, and 4 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her parents, husband, a brother, William, and grandson, Brian Elliott.
She attended St. Mary's grade school and graduated Streator High School in 1935.
She graduated from the University of Illinois in 1939 and was a member of the Delta Phi chapter of Delta Delta Delta. She returned to the university and received a Masters degree in 1960.
She was a life member of the National Education Association and the Illinois Education Association. She spent more than 20 years teaching in the Streator Elementary School District.
She was a member of AARP, the Streatorland Historical Society, and the Elks Auxiliary. She spent 20 years with the Elks Ladies' Bowling League and is listed in the Streator Women's Bowling Association Hall of Fame.
She was a member of Saint Anthony of Padua Parish for more than 50 years.
She retired as a teacher from Streator Elementary School.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Saint Anthony School Building Fund.
