Manuel E. Romero

Manuel Esquivel Romero, 67 of Streator passed away Tuesday, (June 30, 2026) at his home.

Following cremation, visitation will be held Tuesday from 3 – 5PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home with services following. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Manuel was born on May 11, 1959, in Guanajuato, Irapuato Mexico to Filomeno Romero and Nicolosa Esquivel. He married Deborah Rankin on October 5, 1987. She preceded him in death on May 24, 2026.

Surviving are children, Juan Romero of Granville, Filiberto, Maribel, Efrain and Lorena all of Mexico, Nicole Romero of Streator, Robert (Angie Angelico) Rankin of Streator, daughters, Tracy (Mike) Campbell of Greely, CO, Angie (Corey) Christoff of Streator, Jessica (Jesse Paschke) Tunget of Streator, Tonya Rankin-Zaragoza of Streator, 41 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 3 on the way, and his sister, Josefina Romero Esquivel of Mexico.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Kristine Dufur, grandson Omar Luis Gutierrez Romero and his beloved dog Joey.

Manuel served in the Mexican Army and was formerly employed at Prestress.
