Lydia E. Madara, 62 of Marseilles passed away Wednesday morning at her home.
A visitation will be held on Monday from 10AM-1PM at the Crossroads Community Church of the Nazarene in Ottawa.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1PM at the church.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Streator.
Winterrowd Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Lydia was born May 28, 1952 in Pontiac, IL to Sidney and Mary (Jones) Hockett, Sr.
She married Daniel Madara on September 1, 1973. He survives.
Also surviving is her mother, Mary Hockett Zurlinden of Ottawa, son, Jason (Kristi) Madara of Dunkirk, IN and daughter, Stefanie (Jack Parrish) Madara of rural Streator, 4 grandchildren, Cheyanne and Chelsea Madara of Dunkirk, IN and Mikazlin and Jackson Parrish of rural Streator, brothers, Sidney Hockett, Jr. of New Palatine, IN and Rudy Hockett of Oklahoma and sister Gayla (Gary) Ketchum of Galva, IL.
She was preceded in death by her father, Sidney Hockett, Sr. and step-father, Emory Zurlinden.
Lydia graduated from Streator High School in 1970 and attended Olivet Nazarene University. She was a Zonta Teen at St. Mary’s Hospital, member of the Ottawa Bowling Association and was formerly the secretary at the Crossroads Community Church of the Nazarene in Ottawa.
