Lila Mae Powers

Lila M. Powers, 70 of Streator passed away Thursday evening (March 19th) at the Richard Owens Hospice Home, Peoria.
Following cremation a visitation will be held Friday from 5 – 7 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.  Memorial services will be held at 7PM at the funeral home.
Lilia was born on May 8, 1944 in Streator to George and Cecilia (Whitney) Kennedy.
Surviving are children Roberto Kennedy of Oklahoma, Charles (Amy) Powers Sr. of Streator, Sandra (Larry) Rizzo of Streator, Robert (Jade) Powers Jr. of Elizabethtown, KY, step-children Roger (Glenda) Powers of Louisville, KY and Debbie (Ronald) Johnston of Jeffersonville, IN, 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, sister Delores (Clint) Higdon of Streator, nieces Jane and Joy Kennedy.
Lilia is preceded in death by her parents George & Cecilia Kennedy, brothers Elmer Kennedy and George Kennedy and sister Shirley France.
Sandra, Lila’s daughter (assisted by her brother Roberto), stood by her mom, and worked as her health care giver for almost 20 yrs.  You have been the best daughter & sister.  Thank you sis for years of sacrifice, love, and giving heart.  Mom is out of her suffering, may she rest in peace.
