   Leonard H. Davis, 91 retired supervisor at Owens Illinois Glass in Streator, Illinois, died September 23, 2011 at Milan General Hospital, Milan, Tennessee.
   Mr. Davis was born December 6, 1919, in Sparland, Illinois, and lived in Illinois most of his life. During World War II, he served as a machine gun platoon sergeant in the 314th Infantry Regiment, 79th Division, which landed on Utah Beach in Normandy, France. He was wounded in battle and received a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. In 1947, he married Dorothy Gunderson of Marseilles, Illinois, and they made their home and raised their family of four children in Streator, Illinois. Mr. Davis worked for over 36 years at the Owens Illinois Glass Plant where he was a supervisor in the corrugated department. In 2005, he moved to Tennessee to be closer to family due to failing health. His hobbies were fishing, taking care of his plants and flowers, watching and feeding birds, and talking with people at Wal-Mart while he shopped in a motorized cart.
   Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Gunderson Davis; his parents, Grover Cleveland and Violet Crew Davis; an infant brother, Vernon; two brothers who died in childhood, Robert Lee and Richard; a brother, Emory Davis; and a son, Dennis Davis of McAllen, Texas. He is survived by a brother, Alfred Davis of Marseilles, Illinois; three children: Allan (wife, Barbara) Davis of Bradford, Tn.; Janet Davis (husband, Edward) Johnson; and Donna Davis (husband, Danny) Curtis, all of Milan, Tn.; two grandchildren: Jason (wife, Keri) Davis of Milan, Tn.; and Jennifer Curtis (husband, Chris) Speer of Trenton, Tn.; and three great grandchildren: Trey Davis, Carlie Speer, and Addison Speer.
   Mr. Davis requested a full military burial ceremony. The ceremony will be held at Riverview Cemetery in his hometown of Streator, Illinois at 2 p.m on Tuesday September 27th.
   Arrangements are being handled by Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan, Tennessee, and by the Winterrowd Funeral Home in Streator Illinois.
   There will be no visitation.
