Leo Dean Mueller

Leo Dean Mueller, 85 formerly of Streator passed away Thursday (February 3, 2022) at the Amita Health Adventist Medical Center, Bolingbrook.

A visitation will be held Wednesday from 9am until 12noon at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at noon at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Phillips Cemetery.

Leo was born on March 25, 1936, in Streator to Leo J. and Margaret (Brown) Mueller.  He married Catherine Studebaker on May 20, 1955.  She preceded him in death on March 19, 2011.

Surviving are; David Mueller of Leroy, Terry (David Beres) Mueller of Normal, Tracy  Mueller of Kansas City, MO, Sheril (Brian) Hagie of Bolingbrook, Eric (Janet) Mueller of Bloomington and Jacob Mueller of Springfield, grandchildren; Jeff and Judd Fink, Zackary and Olivia Hagie, John and Anna Mueller, Katie Carr and Jordan Beres, great-grandchildren, Mason, Ethan and Isaac Fink and sister Donna (Roman) Kucinski of Gilbert, AZ and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Catherine and a brother Dale Mueller.

Leo attended the Plumb and Garfield grade schools and Streator High School.  He retired from Streator Brick in 1998.  Leo was a member of the Reading Volunteer Fire department from 1956 to 1960.  He served as Union president from 1973 to 1985 and was a member of the Streator Moose Lodge, Erven Avenue Baptist Church.

 Leo enjoyed watching car and motorcycle races, dancing, attending carnivals and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

Memorials may be made in his name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
