Larry F. Thorp

Larry F. Thorp 85, of Ancona passed away Sunday (January 11, 2026) at his home.

A visitation will be held Friday (Jan. 16th) from 10AM until 12noon at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday at 12noon at the funeral home with burial following in Long Point Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Joel Barickman, Art Johnson, Randy Thorp, Jim Farrell, Jeremy Thorp, Dave Allen and Nick Sereg.

Larry was born on May 4, 1940, in Osage Twp. to Wayne and June (Shepard) Thorp. He married Elie Johnson on September 2, 1961. She preceded him in death on December 14, 2005.

Surviving is son Bradley Thorp of Jacksonville, IL, daughter Kimberley (Bob) Smith of Ancona, grandchildren, Jeremy Thorp, Michaela Smith, Jacob Traeger, Jennifer Sullivan and Brad Smith, brothers Edward Thorp of Texas, Randy (Patti) Thorp of Streator and Nick Sereg of Streator, a special niece Sarah Ewing and several other nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Elsie, sisters Joan (J.J.) Thorp and Sally Sue Thorp.

Larry attended Streator High School and drove truck with Pic–Walsh Trucking, Melvin Sales and retired from Zibert Trucking and worked at Allen Disposal. He was a member of the Central Church of Christ and the Streator Eagles and Teamsters Local Union #722.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s Choice.

The family request that casual attire be worn.
