Lance David Champlain

Lance David Champlain, 64 of Streator passed away Thursday (February 2, 2023) at his home.

Following cremation, a visitation will be held Sunday (Feb. 19^th) from 1- 3 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home, Streator with a prayer service at 3 PM.  Burial will be in the Houder Cemetery, Pontiac at a later date.

Lance was born on June 1, 1958, in Chicago to Harvey and Geraldine (Brown) Champlain.  He married Vicki Tullos on February 9, 1988, in Pontiac.  She survives.

Also surviving are sons Bob Conkle of Pontiac and Liam (Brittany Raifsnider) Champlain of Pontiac, grandchildren, Kaylee, Kailey, Cole, Arya and Harvey, brother Ned (Marilyn) Champlain of Streator, sister Penny (Tom) Gordon of Minooka and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a son Rory in infancy and a brother Rocky.

Lance attended Bloom High School in Chicago and graduated from Streator High School. He retired from the Pontiac Correctional Center in 2007.  Lance was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Pontiac, member of St. Mary’s Church in Pontiac.  Lance enjoyed reading, an avid Chicago Cub fan and telling stories over a beer with friends.

Memorials may be made in his name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
