Kenneth J. North

Kenneth J. North, 82 of rural Cornell passed away Monday (April 25, 2022) peacefully at his home with his children Gene, Bruce, and Georgia at his side.

A visitation will be held Monday from 4 - 7 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 11 AM at St. Michael the Archangel Church.  Burial will be in Phillips Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Troy, Steven, Ryan and Thomas North, Joseph, Zachary, Jesse, and Samuel Leskanich.  Honorary will be grandsons, Leo, and Logan Leskanich.

Ken was born on July 5, 1939, in Streator to Therlo E. and Margaret C. (Pitte) North.  He married Gloria Melrose on January 20, 1962.  She preceded him in death on July 24, 2017. 

Surviving are sons, Gene (Wendy) North and Bruce North both of Streator, daughter, Georgia (Mark) Leskanich of Streator, 14 grandchildren; Troy (Crystal), Steven (Claudia), Ryan (Kate), Thomas (Melanie)  and Blake (Kim) North, Joseph (Monica), Zachary, Jesse, Samuel, Hannah, Sophia, Abigail, Leo and Logan Leskanich, 10 great-grandchildren, Jacob and Eloisa, Grayson, Charles, Nora, Finleigh, Claire and Cassandra Jean North, Vincent and Vittoria Leskanich, brothers, Carl and Daniel North both of Streator and several nieces and nephews and he loved his companion dog, Dusty.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Gloria, and a sister Donna Schell.

Ken graduated from Woodland High School in 1958.  He retired from Owens Illinois Glass after 44 years.  Ken was a professional jazz musician.  He enjoyed boating, woodworking, and fishing.
