Kelly E. Murphy

Kelly E. Murphy, 66 of Streator passed away Thursday morning (February 15, 2024) at his home.

A visitation will be held Tuesday from 10 – 11AM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.  Services will be held at 11AM at the funeral home with his sister Kim Forristall officiating.  Burial will be in the Bell Plain Baptist Cemetery, Pattonsburg.

Serving as pallbearers will be his brothers Mike, Terry and Kevin Murphy, nephews, Mike Jr., Kenny, Keith and John Murphy.

Kelly was born on September 7, 1957, in Streator to John K. and Fay (Sipe) Murphy.

Surviving is a son Charles Drosten of Bloomington, siblings Mike (Phyllis) Murphy of Streator, Terry (Cheryl) Murphy of Manville, Audrey Murphy of Streator, Kevin Murphy of Streator, Kim (Gary) Forristall of Princeton and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother John Murphy III, sisters, Janet Murphy, Pat Mullen, Coleen Hjerpe and BJ Murphy.

Kelly attended Streator grade schools and Streator High School.  He served in the US Marines from January 1976 until August 1981.  He was formerly employed at Trans Co and Red Wing.   He enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears, fishing and spending time with his family.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
