Joyce L. Missel, 77 of Streator passed away Wednesday morning (June 29th) at her home.
A visitation will be held Sunday from 4 – 6 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11AM the funeral home. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery following cremation rites.
Joyce was born on March 30, 1939 in Streator to Henry and Mabel (Spencer) Guy. She married Frederick D. Missel on February 20, 1959. He preceded her in death on December 7, 2012.
Surviving are; son Doug Missel of Streator, daughter, Jamie Irvin of Streator, grandchildren, Adam (Heidi Price) Missel, Marcus (Crystal) Irvin, Andrea (Christon Houston) Missel and Mariah Irvin, great-grandchildren, Bentley Missel, Audreece and Arliohna Houston, sisters, Carolyn Simpson of Wenona and Florence Grant of Cincinnati, OH, sisters-in-law, Ruby Guy of Minerva, OH, Marsha Pence of Streator, brothers-in-law, Robert and Kenneth Missel both of Florida and several nieces and nephews.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter Julie Kay Missel in infancy, brothers, William and Arthur Guy and a sister Lavonne Irving, In-laws, Eugene and Dorothy (Wolfe) Missel.
She graduated from Streator High School in 1957 and was employed at the former Montgomery Wards and retired from Sammons Communications (currently Media Com Cable Co.) Joyce was very active with the Central Church of Christ and active with the school choir.
Joyce was a loving and caring person to all that knew her.
Memorials may be made in her name to either the Livingston County Humane Society or the Central Church of Christ.
