Joyce was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church for more than 50 years, teaching Sabbath School, and participating in Vacation Bible School when her children were young. She retired from St. Mary's Hospital in 1996 after 20+ years of employment.

Joyce was a very kind, gentle, loving, and generous woman. Her joy in life was spending time with her daughters. She enjoyed taking walks, reading, caring for her cats, listening to Gospel music, and studying the Bible. She loved to sing at church. A couple of her favorite songs were "In the Sweet By and By" and "In the Garden." She always took time for her family. Joyce had a good sense of humor and loved to laugh.

One of her favorite scriptures was John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not parish but have everlasting life."

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to OSF Hospice.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
