Jose Ivan Velazquez

Jose Ivan Velazquez, 76 of Streator passed away Tuesday (June 17, 2025) at Loyola Medical Center, Maywood.

Visitation will be held Saturday (Jun. 28th) from 10A.M. until 12Noon at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Services will follow at noon at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be, Ross Brooks, Eric Granados, Hector Cotts, Miguel Pinedo, Matthew Burgos and Kenneth Washington

Jose was born on September 11, 1948, in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico to Jose and Luz Maria (Figueroa) Velazquez. He married Julia Smith on February 13, 1993. She survives.

Also surviving are Irene Velazquez of Streator, Jose I. Velazquez of Plano, Ivelissa Weiman of El Paso, Jose L. Velazquez of Aurora, Carmen Velazquez of Puerto Rico and Rose Reyes of Ohio, 20 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren, sister Carmen Velazquez of New York 3 nieces and 1 nephew and a special friend Hector Cotts.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
