Jon K. Zaruba

Jon K. Zaruba, 61 of Streator passed away Tuesday (August 4, 2026) at the OSF Center For Health, Streator.

A visitation will be held Sunday (Aug. 9th) from 2 – 5 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Services will be held at 5PM at the funeral home. Cremation rites will follow services.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Koplin, Brian Schultz and Jeff Kusnerick.

Jon was born on October 2, 1964, in Chicago to John Charles and Mary Ann (Ralston) Zaruba.

Surviving are sisters, Sheila A. (Rebecca L. Cherry) Zaruba of Tennessee, his twin sister Janet Marie Zarbua of Georgia, nieces Veronica Lovelady, Charlene Karras, great niece Aliha Karras, aunts, Susan Page of Florida and Linda Ralston of Missouri and many cousins of the Ralston and the Zaruba family, his former spouse, Janet Paulk, her children, Rebecca Ann Green and James Matthew Ashworth, her grandchildren, Abigail Brooke, Tyler Brett Tomlinson, Lillian Rose and Carley Ann Green, Jacob Sapp, Alexis Regan, Aubree Clare Ashworth and his beloved dogs, Bodi and Rambo.

He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, John G. and Elizabeth Zaruba, Kelly and Anna Rolston and a step-great granddaughter Macey Rae Green.

Jon graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Chicago in 1983. He was formerly employed at Vactor Mfg in Streator. He was an avid bowler with the American Bowling Congress. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors.

Memorial may be made to the American Heart Association or the Limbs for Life Foundation.
