John A. Holocker

John A. (Jack) Holocker, 87 of Streator passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Wednesday (April 8, 2026) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday (April 24th) from 1 – 5 PM at the Streator Moose Lodge. A private family burial will be held at Riverview Cemetery with full military honors conducted by members of the Streator American Legion and VFW.

John was born on May 5, 1938, in Granville to John A. and Viola (Watson) Holocker. He married Linda Bundy on June 17, 1961. She survives.

Also surviving are his legacy, Lisa (Brian Trost) Palko of Streator, Lori (Garry) Hert of Waukesha, WI, Luan (William) Goubeaux of Streator, John P. (Esmeralda Salinas) Holocker of Dwight and Mark (Chris) Holocker of Streator, grandchildren, Megan (Kyle) Decker, Jennifer (Steven) Richardson, Phillip (Morgan Belcher) Angelico, Molli (Aaron) Donahue, Jami (Clint) Hanafin, Jared Weiss, Adam (Amanda) Chismar, Logan Chismar, Cody Goubeaux, Hannah Novotney, Jacob (Taylor) Holocker and Marleigh Holocker, great grandchildren, Calla, Boden, Lydia, Luke, Kaybri, Kenzy, Maia, Kealy, Coleman, Layke, Jayce, Bentley and Lonni.

He is preceded by his parents, brothers, Vernon, William and Earl, sisters, Helen Wilkerson, Eleanor Stansbery, Sherryl Taylor, Dora and Muriel Holocker, sons-in-law, Robert A. Soule Jr and Michael P. Palko.

John graduated from Streator High School in 1956; he served in the National Guard as a Staff SGT and retired from Owens Illinois Glass in 1995. John was a member of the Central Church of Christ, AM Vets, Streatorland Historical Society and Camera Club. He enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, and genealogy. He was a former soccer coach.
